1
Stand facing a pull-up bar with feet hip-width apart. Grip the bar with hands slightly wider than shoulder-width, using an overhand grip. Allow arms to fully extend overhead.
2
Engage core and maintain neutral spine. Depress shoulders away from ears. Take a deep breath to prepare for the pull.
3
Lower body in a controlled manner by slightly bending knees and allowing elbows to extend. Resist the downward pull of gravity, maintaining tension throughout the lats and back muscles.
4
Pull body upward by driving elbows down and back, retracting scapulae. Continue until chin passes bar level or chest approaches bar. Squeeze lats at top position, then lower with control to full arm extension.
