1
Position yourself on a decline bench with your feet secured under the foot pads. Lie flat on your back with your body aligned lengthwise on the bench, head toward the lower end.
2
Place your hands behind your head with fingers lightly touching the back of your skull, or cross them over your chest. Ensure your lower back maintains contact with the bench throughout the movement.
3
Lower your torso backward in a controlled manner by extending your spine, allowing gravity to lengthen the abdominal muscles. Stop before your back reaches full extension, maintaining a slight curve.
4
Contract your abdominal muscles and pull your torso upward toward your thighs using core strength. Lift until your shoulders clear the bench and you feel maximum abdominal contraction, then return to starting position with control.
