1
Stand with feet hip-width apart, holding a weight plate or dumbbell at chest level with both hands. Maintain an upright torso with neutral spine alignment and shoulders back.
2
Grip the weight firmly with both hands at chest height. Engage your core and prepare to initiate the squat movement by taking a slight breath in.
3
Lower your body by bending at the hips and knees simultaneously, keeping weight distributed through mid-foot to heels. Descend until thighs reach parallel to the floor or slightly below, maintaining an upright chest and neutral spine throughout the descent.
4
Drive through heels and mid-foot to explosively extend knees and hips, returning to standing position. Exhale during the pressing phase and maintain control throughout the concentric movement.
