1
Sit on the edge of a bench or chair with back support. Position body perpendicular to the bench with hands gripping the edge for stability. Keep torso upright and legs extended straight out in front at hip level.
2
Grasp the bench firmly with both hands at chest width. Engage core muscles by drawing navel toward spine. Position legs straight and together with a slight bend at knees if needed for comfort.
3
Slowly lower legs toward the ground by extending at the hips, allowing gravity to pull legs downward while maintaining slight control. Keep lower back pressed against support to prevent hyperextension. Move through full range of motion until legs reach parallel or slightly below horizontal.
4
Initiate movement by flexing abdominal muscles and hip flexors to lift legs back up toward chest level. Drive knees toward torso in a controlled manner. Return to starting position with legs at hip height, maintaining tension throughout the movement.
