Lie supine on floor or mat with back flat, knees bent at approximately 90 degrees, feet flat on ground, arms extended at sides or across chest, head in neutral position

Engage core by drawing navel toward spine, maintain neutral cervical spine alignment without neck strain, position hands lightly behind head if needed for support only

Lower legs slowly from vertical position toward floor while maintaining core engagement, keep lower back pressed to mat throughout descent, control the eccentric movement without allowing lumbar extension

Drive legs upward by contracting rectus abdominis, return to starting position with legs extended horizontally or knees bent, exhale during concentric phase and complete full range of motion
