Stand facing the machine with feet positioned on the footplate, hip-width apart. Grasp the side handles firmly with both hands at chest height for stability. Keep torso upright and core engaged throughout the movement.

Adjust the seat height so that knees are aligned with the machine's pivot point. Position feet flat on the platform with toes pointing slightly outward. Ensure lower back is against the backrest with shoulders relaxed.

Slowly lower your legs by bending at the knees, controlling the weight as you extend the legs downward. Lower until knees reach approximately 90 degrees of flexion or slightly less, maintaining contact with the footplate throughout.

Drive through the heels to extend the legs upward, pushing the footplate away from your body using quadriceps force. Return to the starting position with legs extended but knees not locked at the top of the movement.
