1
Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a barbell across the front of your shoulders with hands slightly wider than shoulder-width. Keep your chest up and core engaged with a neutral spine.
2
Grip the barbell firmly with elbows pointing forward and slightly down. Position your feet with toes pointing slightly outward. Take a deep breath and brace your core before initiating the descent.
3
Lower your body by simultaneously flexing at the hips and knees, maintaining an upright torso. Descend until your thighs reach parallel to the ground or slightly below, keeping weight distributed through the midfoot and heels.
4
Drive through your midfoot and heels to extend the knees and hips, returning to the starting position. Maintain an upright posture throughout the ascent and exhale as you reach full extension.
