1
Stand upright with feet together, arms at sides or hands on hips for balance. Maintain neutral spine and engaged core throughout the movement.
2
Shift body weight onto one leg (stance leg) while keeping torso upright. The non-working leg remains ready to perform the lateral raise.
3
Slowly lift the working leg out to the side with a controlled motion, allowing the hip to abduct. Maintain the lifted position briefly at maximum range without momentum.
4
Return the working leg back to the starting position by adducting the hip, bringing the leg back to center. Drive the movement by engaging the adductors of the stance leg while stabilizing with core and glutes. Alternate legs or complete all reps on one side before switching.
