1
Stand upright with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a weight plate or dumbbell at chest level with both hands. Keep your torso upright and core engaged throughout the movement.
2
Position the weight plate close to your chest with elbows bent at approximately 90 degrees. Establish a firm grip on either side of the plate. Keep shoulders relaxed and scapulae retracted.
3
Slowly lower the weight plate in a controlled manner by allowing the elbows to flex and move backward, bringing the weight toward your chest. Maintain an upright posture throughout the eccentric phase.
4
Explosively press the weight plate away from your body by extending the elbows and contracting the chest muscles. Return to the starting position with the weight plate at chest level, maintaining control throughout the concentric phase.
