Stability Ball Rounded Rollout

Instructions

1
Start in a plank position with hands on a stability ball positioned at mid-chest level, feet together or slightly apart on the ground, body forming a straight line from head to heels
2
Grip the ball firmly with both hands, engage core and glutes to maintain neutral spine alignment, keep shoulders packed and away from ears
3
Lower your torso toward the ball by bending elbows, allowing them to track naturally away from body at approximately 45-degree angle, descend in controlled manner until chest nearly touches ball
4
Push through hands to extend elbows and drive chest away from ball, returning to starting plank position while maintaining rigid core and spinal alignment throughout

Overview

Focusing on the Stability Ball Rounded Rollout allows you to target the Pectoralis Major with precision. As a foundational Strength, Stretching exercise, the integration of Stability ball provides the necessary tension to trigger hypertrophy, while avoiding excessive joint strain.

Benefits

  • Promotes balanced muscular development by effectively recruiting the Pectoralis Major and associated synergists.
  • Significantly enhances the structural integrity and power of the Pectoralis Major.
  • Improves overall Waist stability and proprioception during heavy loads.
  • Utilizes Stability ball to create sustained mechanical tension, forcing deep muscle adaptation.

Common Mistakes

  • Rushing the repetition tempo instead of focusing on the mind-muscle connection with the Waist.
  • Losing core tension, leading to poor spinal alignment and reduced power output.
  • Failing to achieve a full range of motion, which drastically limits Pectoralis Major engagement.

Pro Tips

If you feel this primarily in your joints rather than the Pectoralis Major, instantly lower the weight and readjust your Stability ball setup.

Muscle Anatomy

The primary driver is the Pectoralis Major. However, the movement also recruits Anterior Deltoids, Triceps, Serratus Anterior, Core Stabilizers to maintain control of the Stability ball.

Exercise Variations

  • Dumbbell Stability Ball Rounded Rollout
  • Cable Stability Ball Rounded Rollout
  • Banded Stability Ball Rounded Rollout

Beginner Tips

If you are new to the Stability Ball Rounded Rollout , focus on mastering the movement pattern with zero weight before adding Stability ball.
