1
Sit on the floor with legs extended straight in front of you, back upright, and hands placed behind or beside your body for light support. Keep your head neutral and shoulders relaxed.
2
Engage your core and maintain neutral spine alignment. Place hands on your shins or ankles depending on flexibility level, or keep hands by your sides for a gentler stretch.
3
Slowly hinge forward at the hips while keeping the spine relatively straight, lowering your torso toward your legs. Lower as far as comfortable without forcing or bouncing, feeling the stretch along the posterior chain.
4
Hold the stretched position for the prescribed time, then slowly return to the upright seated position by engaging your core and lifting your torso back up to neutral spine.
