1
Stand inside the squat rack with feet shoulder-width apart, barbell positioned across the upper back and shoulders at mid-trap level. Maintain neutral spine alignment with chest up and core engaged.
2
Grip the barbell with hands slightly wider than shoulder-width using an overhand grip. Tighten your core, take a deep breath, and prepare to descend by engaging your leg muscles.
3
Lower your body by simultaneously bending at the hips and knees, keeping weight distributed through mid-foot to heel. Descend until thighs reach parallel to the ground or slightly below, maintaining an upright torso and neutral spine position throughout the movement.
4
Drive through your mid-foot and heels to extend knees and hips simultaneously, returning to standing position. Exhale during the ascent and maintain control throughout the concentric phase until reaching full knee extension at the starting position.
