Sit upright on the bench with back firmly against the backrest, feet planted on the floor. Grip the barbell with hands slightly wider than shoulder-width, palms facing forward. Position the bar at upper chest level.

Ensure core is engaged and back remains neutral against the pad. Take a deep breath and prepare to drive the weight upward with controlled power.

Lower the barbell in a controlled manner by bending the elbows, bringing the bar down toward the upper chest/shoulder level. Maintain a steady breathing pattern and keep elbows at approximately 45 degrees from the body.

Drive the barbell upward by extending the elbows and pressing through the shoulders, returning to the starting position. Exhale as you press upward. Achieve full elbow extension at the top without locking out.
