1
Sit on the leg press machine with your back and head resting firmly against the padded support. Position your feet on the platform approximately shoulder-width apart with toes pointing slightly outward. Your knees should start at approximately 90 degrees of flexion.
2
Grip the handles on either side of the machine for stability. Ensure your lower back remains in contact with the backrest throughout the movement. Brace your core and maintain a neutral spine position.
3
Slowly lower the platform by bending your knees, allowing them to travel forward while maintaining alignment over your toes. Lower until your knees reach approximately 90 degrees of flexion or slightly less, ensuring knees do not cave inward. Keep your back flat against the pad throughout the descent.
4
Drive through your mid-foot and heels to extend your knees, pushing the platform away from your body. Return to the starting position with a controlled motion. Stop just short of full knee extension to maintain tension on the quadriceps and protect the knee joint.
