1
Sit on the leg press machine with your back and head resting firmly against the padded support. Place your feet on the platform approximately shoulder-width apart with toes pointing slightly outward. Your knees should start at approximately 90 degrees of flexion.
2
Grip the handles on the sides of the seat for stability. Engage your core by drawing your navel toward your spine. Ensure your lower back remains in contact with the backrest throughout the movement.
3
Slowly lower the weight by bending your knees and hips simultaneously, allowing the platform to move toward your body. Continue lowering until your knees reach approximately 90 degrees of flexion or slightly below, ensuring knees do not cave inward. Maintain control and avoid bouncing at the bottom position.
4
Drive through your heels and mid-foot to extend your knees and hips, pushing the platform away from your body. Return to the starting position with knees nearly straight but not locked. Exhale as you press and maintain a steady tempo throughout the concentric phase.
