1
Sit on a sturdy bench or platform with your back upright, feet flat on the ground, and knees bent at approximately 90 degrees. Keep your torso stable and engaged throughout the movement.
2
Position yourself with both feet flat on the ground, hip-width apart. Grip the bench beside you for stability if needed. Maintain neutral spine alignment and contract your core.
3
Slowly extend one leg forward, straightening the knee and lifting the foot off the ground. Control the movement and extend the leg until it reaches full or near-full extension, creating a straight line from hip to ankle.
4
Pause briefly at full extension with the leg straight and quadriceps fully contracted. Then slowly lower the leg back to the starting position with the foot touching the ground, maintaining control throughout the eccentric phase.
