1
Lie supine on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor, positioned hip-width apart. Place hands behind your head with elbows pointing outward or across your chest. Maintain neutral spine with lower back in contact with the floor.
2
Engage your core by drawing your navel toward your spine. Keep your neck neutral and avoid pulling on your head. Ensure your lower back remains pressed against the floor throughout the movement.
3
Slowly lower your torso back toward the starting position by releasing tension through the abdominal muscles. Control the descent and avoid relaxing completely between repetitions to maintain constant tension on the rectus abdominis.
4
Contract your abdominal muscles to curl your torso forward, lifting your shoulder blades off the floor. Continue the crunch motion until you feel maximum contraction in the upper abs. Return to starting position with control.
