1
Stand upright with feet hip-width apart, arms at sides or extended forward for balance, core engaged, and chest upright. Position body weight evenly distributed on both feet.
2
Prepare by maintaining neutral spine alignment, engaging core muscles, and positioning arms in a comfortable position (either at sides or extended forward at shoulder height for counterbalance).
3
Lower body by bending at knees and hips simultaneously, descending as if sitting into a chair. Keep chest upright, knees tracking over toes, and weight centered in heels. Continue lowering until thighs reach parallel to ground or comfortable depth.
4
Drive through heels and extend knees and hips explosively to return to standing position. Maintain upright posture throughout the ascent. Complete one repetition when returning to full hip and knee extension at starting position.
