1
Sit on a bench with your back support and feet secured under the leg extension apparatus. Position your upper body at approximately 45 degrees from horizontal, chest up, and hands placed lightly behind the head or across the chest.
2
Ensure your glutes are firmly planted on the bench and your lower back maintains neutral alignment against the backrest. Engage your core by drawing your navel toward your spine before initiating movement.
3
Slowly recline backward by extending through the spine, lowering your torso toward horizontal while keeping your feet anchored. Maintain controlled movement and stop before your lower back loses contact with the bench or creates excessive lumbar extension.
4
Contract the abdominal muscles and flex the spine to pull your torso back up toward the starting position. Drive through your core to return to the upright seated position, exhaling as you flex forward.
