1
Sit on a flat bench with feet firmly planted on the floor or secured. Position body upright with torso perpendicular to thighs. Keep hands behind head with elbows bent and open to sides.
2
Place hands loosely behind the head or across the chest for easier variation. Keep feet anchored to ground or use bench foot support. Engage core by drawing navel toward spine.
3
Lower torso backward with controlled motion, allowing hip flexion to increase the stretch on abdominal muscles. Maintain neutral spine and avoid pulling on neck. Lower until torso approaches horizontal position or until comfortable stretch is achieved.
4
Drive through abdominal contraction to curl torso forward, flexing spine as you bring chest toward knees. Exhale during this movement. Return to starting seated position with slight forward lean. Maintain tension throughout the movement.
