1
Stand on the treadmill with feet hip-width apart, positioned in the center of the belt. Maintain upright posture with shoulders back and core engaged. Hold the handrails lightly for balance if needed.
2
Begin with a comfortable walking pace to warm up. Gradually increase the speed or incline according to fitness level. Maintain a natural arm swing with elbows bent at approximately 90 degrees.
3
Allow one leg to extend behind the body as the opposite leg flexes at the knee and hip, moving forward. The quadriceps on the trailing leg lengthens as weight transfers to the front leg.
4
Drive the trailing leg forward by contracting the quadriceps and flexing the hip. Push off with the toes of the rear foot to propel the body forward, creating a continuous running or walking stride pattern on the treadmill belt.
