1
Lie supine on a bench or floor with upper back supported. Place one leg on a foam roller positioned under the thigh, with the opposite foot flat on the floor or extended. Head rests on the bench with hands supporting behind.
2
Position the foam roller perpendicular under the thigh, slightly above the knee. Keep the supporting leg's foot planted for stability. Engage core to maintain neutral spine alignment throughout the movement.
3
Lower the body by bending the knee of the working leg, rolling the foam roller toward the hip. Allow the quadriceps to lengthen as you descend, keeping tension on the muscle group. The eccentric phase should be controlled and deliberate.
4
Drive through the working leg to extend the knee and lift the body back to starting position, rolling the foam roller away from the hip toward the knee. Maintain engagement throughout the return to the initial position.
