1
Sit upright on a bench or stability ball with hands positioned behind you on the surface for support. Keep your torso upright and core engaged. Position one leg with the knee bent at approximately 90 degrees, foot resting on a foam roller or low platform.
2
Place the foam roller under the distal portion of one thigh, just above the knee. Ensure your hands are firmly planted behind you to support your body weight. Keep your non-working leg bent with foot planted on the ground for stability.
3
Slowly lower your working leg by allowing the knee to bend slightly, rolling the foam roller backward under the thigh as you extend the leg. Control the descent and feel the stretch through the quadriceps. The movement should be controlled and gradual.
4
Press through your working leg and hands to lift your body upward, extending the knee and rolling the foam roller forward back toward the starting position. Maintain constant tension on the quadriceps throughout the lifting phase. Return to full extension of the working leg.
