1
Stand facing the pull-up bar with feet positioned below or slightly in front of the bar. Grasp the bar with hands slightly wider than shoulder-width apart using an overhand or underhand grip. Keep core engaged and shoulders retracted.
2
Hang from the bar with arms fully extended and legs either straight or bent at the knees. Engage your core and maintain neutral spine alignment. Depress and retract your scapula to initiate the movement.
3
Lower your body in a controlled manner by extending your arms while maintaining slight elbow bend. Allow your body to descend until arms reach near full extension. Keep your core tight and avoid excessive swinging or momentum.
4
Pull your body upward by driving elbows down and back, retracting scapula and contracting lat muscles. Continue pulling until chest approaches or touches the bar, achieving full lat contraction. Slowly lower back to starting position with control.
