1
Stand facing a pull-up bar with feet shoulder-width apart. Grip the bar with hands slightly wider than shoulder-width using an overhand grip (palms facing away). Hang from the bar with arms fully extended and core engaged.
2
Tighten your grip on the bar and depress your shoulders. Take a deep breath and prepare to initiate the pulling motion by engaging your lats and back muscles.
3
Pull your body upward by driving your elbows downward and back, focusing on retracting your shoulder blades. Continue the pulling motion until your chest approaches or touches the bar, maintaining tension in the latissimus dorsi throughout the movement.
4
Lower your body with control by extending your arms and allowing your shoulders to rise, resisting gravity in a slow and controlled manner. Return to the starting position with arms fully extended, maintaining tension in the muscles before performing the next repetition.
