Stand with feet shoulder-width apart on a flat surface, weight evenly distributed. Maintain upright torso with chest up and core engaged. Hands can be placed on hips or across chest.

Begin in standing position with knees fully extended. Engage core muscles and prepare for downward movement by taking a slight breath in.

Lower body by bending knees and hips simultaneously, descending as if sitting back into a chair. Keep chest upright, knees tracking over toes, weight in heels. Lower until thighs are parallel to ground or slightly below parallel.

Drive through heels and extend knees and hips simultaneously to return to standing position. Maintain upright posture throughout ascent. Fully extend legs at top before beginning next repetition.
