1
Lie flat on your back on a mat or floor with your head supported and arms at your sides with palms down for stability. Keep your lower back neutral against the floor.
2
Bend one knee and place that foot flat on the floor. Keep the opposite leg extended straight, ready for the movement. Engage your core to maintain spinal stability throughout.
3
Slowly lower the extended leg toward the floor by straightening it at the hip, allowing it to descend in a controlled manner. Stop just short of touching the floor to maintain tension and protect the lower back.
4
Raise the extended leg back up to the starting position by contracting the quadriceps and hip flexors. Drive the movement through the thigh musculature and return to the elevated position. Maintain control throughout the ascent.
