1
Lie flat on your back on a mat or floor with legs extended. Keep your back neutral against the floor and head supported. Arms can be placed at sides or across chest for stability.
2
Engage your core by drawing your navel toward your spine. Place hands lightly behind your head or across your chest for support. Keep your lower back pressed to the floor throughout the movement.
3
Lower one leg toward the floor by extending the hip and knee in a controlled manner, keeping the leg straight. The opposite leg remains extended with knee slightly bent if needed for floor contact. Lower as far as possible while maintaining lower back contact with floor.
4
Drive the extended leg back up by lifting from the thigh and hip flexor, contracting the quadriceps. Return to the starting position with leg raised. Repeat the prescribed reps before switching legs.
