Lever Standing Rear Kick

Instructions

1
Stand on the platform with feet hip-width apart, facing forward with hands on the handles or bar. Keep chest upright, shoulders back, and core engaged. Position body weight evenly distributed across both feet.
2
Grip the handles firmly with both hands. Ensure neutral spine alignment. Engage core muscles before initiating movement. Maintain upright posture with slight forward gaze.
3
Perform a controlled alternating leg extension forward, straightening one knee while keeping the standing leg stable. Extend the working leg fully or to comfortable range. Lower leg back down in controlled manner without dropping or jerking.
4
Drive through the standing leg's quadriceps to extend the moving leg, fully straightening the knee. Return the extended leg to starting position by reversing the movement with control. Alternate legs and repeat.

Overview

The Lever Standing Rear Kick is an incredibly effective Strength movement designed to fully engage the Quadriceps. By utilizing Leverage machine, this exercise emphasizes a deep stretch and a powerful contraction, making it a cornerstone for anyone looking to optimize their Hips development.

Benefits

  • Improves overall Hips stability and proprioception during heavy loads.
  • Allows for a natural movement path that closely mimics functional daily activities.
  • Reduces the likelihood of Hips injuries by reinforcing connective tissue strength.

Common Mistakes

  • Using excessive momentum to swing the Leverage machine rather than controlling the eccentric phase.
  • Losing core tension, leading to poor spinal alignment and reduced power output.
  • Failing to achieve a full range of motion, which drastically limits Quadriceps engagement.

Pro Tips

If you feel this primarily in your joints rather than the Quadriceps, instantly lower the weight and readjust your Leverage machine setup.
