1
Sit upright on the machine with your back firmly against the backrest. Position feet flat on the floor or footrest. Grasp the handles with a neutral grip at chest height, elbows bent at approximately 90 degrees.
2
Ensure your shoulders are relaxed and depressed away from ears. Maintain neutral spine alignment against the backrest. Take a deep breath and prepare to push forward with controlled tension.
3
Slowly allow the handles to return toward your body by resisting the weight stack. Control the movement as the handles move back, maintaining tension in the chest muscles throughout the eccentric phase. Return to the starting position without allowing the weight to rest completely.
4
Powerfully press the handles forward and away from your body by contracting the chest muscles. Drive through the entire range of motion until arms are nearly fully extended without locking elbows. Exhale during this concentric phase and return to starting position with control.
