1
Sit upright on the machine with torso erect and chest against the pad. Feet planted firmly on the footrest. Grip the handles with arms extended overhead at shoulder width or slightly wider.
2
Establish a neutral spine with shoulders packed down and back. Engage core and brace abdominals. Ensure shoulder blades are in a retracted position to prepare for the pull.
3
Initiate the movement by depressing and retracting the scapulae. Pull the handles downward and toward the torso in a controlled manner, allowing the elbows to track in a natural arc. Lower until the handle reaches approximately chest level with elbows bent to approximately 90 degrees.
4
Reverse the movement by extending the arms overhead against the resistance while maintaining control. Allow the shoulders to protract slightly at full extension. Return to starting position with arms fully extended and repeat for prescribed repetitions.
