1
Sit upright on the machine with back against the backrest and head resting against the support. Place feet under the foot pad with knees bent at approximately 90 degrees. Grip the handles on either side for stability.
2
Adjust the seat height so that the axis of rotation aligns with your knee joint. Position feet hip-width apart under the foot pad. Engage core and maintain upright posture throughout the movement.
3
Slowly lower the foot pad by bending at the knees, allowing the weight to resist the movement. Control the descent and do not allow knees to collapse inward. Lower until knees reach approximately 90 degrees or slightly less, maintaining tension in the quadriceps.
4
Drive through the heels and extend the legs powerfully, straightening the knees to return to the starting position. Extend legs fully without locking out knees at the top. Squeeze quadriceps at the peak contraction and repeat for desired repetitions.
