1
Sit on the leg extension machine with your back firmly against the backrest and your hips and lower back in contact with the seat. Position your feet under the foot pad with legs at approximately 90 degrees at the knee joint.
2
Grip the handles on either side of the seat for stability. Adjust the machine so the pivot point aligns with your knee joint. Ensure your thighs are parallel to the floor and your feet are flat under the pad.
3
Slowly lower the weight by bending your knees in a controlled manner, allowing your legs to move downward toward the floor. Maintain contact with the backrest throughout and control the descent for 2-3 seconds without locking at the bottom.
4
Drive through your quadriceps to extend your legs, pressing the foot pad forward and upward until your legs are nearly straight (avoid full knee lockout). Squeeze the quadriceps at the top and return to the starting position in a controlled manner.
