1
Sit on the leg extension machine with your back firmly against the backrest and hips seated. Position your feet under the foot pad with knees bent at approximately 90 degrees. Adjust the machine so the pivot point aligns with your knee joint.
2
Grasp the handles on either side of the seat for stability. Ensure your lower back remains in contact with the backrest throughout the movement. Position feet shoulder-width apart under the pad.
3
Slowly lower the weight by allowing your knees to bend in a controlled manner, returning to the starting position with knees at approximately 90 degrees. Maintain contact with the backrest and do not let momentum control the descent.
4
Extend your knees by pressing the foot pad forward and upward, straightening your legs until they reach full extension or just short of locking out. Squeeze the quadriceps at the top of the movement for one second before beginning the next repetition.
