1
Sit upright on the leg extension machine with your back firmly against the backrest and your torso perpendicular to the floor. Feet should be positioned flat on the footrest attachment with knees bent at approximately 90 degrees. Grasp the side handles for stability.
2
Adjust the machine so the pivot point aligns with your knee joint. Position your feet under the padded leg extension bar with your shins vertical. Ensure your thighs are parallel to the floor and fully supported by the seat.
3
Slowly lower the weight by bending at the knees, allowing the legs to move downward in a controlled manner. Lower until your knees reach approximately 90 degrees of flexion, maintaining contact with the seat and avoiding excessive forward lean.
4
Drive through your quadriceps to extend your legs upward against the resistance, straightening your knees to approximately full extension without hyperextending the knee joint. Pause briefly at full extension, then return to the starting position with controlled movement.
