1
Sit on the leg extension machine with your back firmly against the backrest and hips positioned at the back of the seat. Place your feet under the padded lever bar with legs at approximately 90 degrees at the knee joint.
2
Grip the handles on either side of the seat for stability. Position your feet shoulder-width apart under the footpad. Ensure your lower back maintains contact with the backrest throughout the movement.
3
Slowly lower the weight by allowing your knees to bend in a controlled manner, moving the lever down toward your body. Keep your back flat against the seat and avoid letting your knees cave inward. Lower until your knees reach approximately 90 degrees of flexion.
4
Drive through your quadriceps to extend your knees, pushing the lever forward and upward in a smooth, controlled motion. Extend your legs until nearly straight (avoid locking out completely). Squeeze the quadriceps at full extension, then repeat.
