Sit on the leg extension machine with your back firmly against the backrest. Position your knees at approximately 90 degrees, aligned with the machine's pivot point. Feet should be flat on the footplate with toes pointing forward.

Adjust the machine so the pad sits just above your ankles on the lower leg. Grip the handles beside you for stability. Ensure your hips and torso remain in contact with the seat throughout the movement.

Slowly lower the weight by bending your knees, allowing the footplate to move downward in a controlled manner. Lower until your knees reach approximately 90 degrees of flexion, maintaining contact with the seat.

Drive through your quadriceps to extend your legs, pushing the footplate forward and upward. Extend your knees until they are nearly straight but not locked. Pause briefly at the top before returning to the starting position.
