1
Position yourself on the leg press machine with your back and head resting firmly against the padded support. Place your feet on the platform shoulder-width apart with toes pointing slightly outward. Your knees should form approximately a 90-degree angle at the starting position.
2
Grip the handles on either side of the machine for stability. Ensure your core is engaged and your lower back maintains contact with the backrest throughout the movement. Adjust the seat position so your knees track over your toes.
3
Lower the weight by bending your knees, allowing them to descend toward your chest in a controlled manner. Continue lowering until your knees reach approximately 90 degrees or slightly less, but do not allow your lower back to round or lift away from the pad.
4
Press through your mid-foot and heels to extend your legs and drive the platform away from your body. Push until your legs are nearly fully extended but maintain a slight bend in the knees at the top—do not lock out completely. Return to the starting position with control.
