1
Sit upright on the bench with back against the backrest, feet flat on the floor or footrest. Grip the handles at shoulder height with elbows bent at approximately 90 degrees, hands slightly wider than shoulder-width apart.
2
Ensure neutral spine position against the backrest. Take a deep breath and brace the core. Position hands with neutral wrist alignment, maintaining firm grip on the handles.
3
Slowly open the arms and allow the handles to move outward and slightly backward in a controlled arc, resisting the weight throughout the movement. Feel the stretch across the chest at full range of motion.
4
Drive the handles forward and inward by contracting the chest muscles, following a smooth arc path. Return to the starting position with controlled movement, squeezing the chest at the midpoint before repeating.
