1
Sit on the leg extension machine with your back firmly against the backrest and seat. Position your feet under the ankle pad with legs at approximately 90 degrees at the knee joint. Grip the handles on both sides of the seat for stability.
2
Adjust the machine so the ankle pad rests just above your ankle bone on the lower leg. Ensure your knees are aligned with the machine's pivot point. Keep your torso upright and core engaged throughout the movement.
3
Slowly lower the weight by bending at the knees, allowing the ankle pad to descend in a controlled manner. Lower until your knees reach approximately 90 degrees of flexion. Maintain tension in the quadriceps and avoid using momentum.
4
Drive through your thighs to extend your legs and raise the ankle pad upward in a smooth, controlled motion. Extend until your legs are nearly straight but avoid locking out the knees at full extension. Return to the starting position and repeat.
