1
Sit on the leg extension machine with your back firmly against the backrest and feet positioned under the foot pad. Adjust the seat height so the knee joint aligns with the machine's pivot point.
2
Position your feet hip-width apart under the padded lever arm. Grip the side handles of the machine and ensure your torso remains upright against the backrest throughout the movement.
3
Slowly lower the weight by bending your knees, allowing your legs to move downward in a controlled manner. Continue lowering until your knees reach approximately 90 degrees of flexion or slightly less, maintaining tension without locking the joint.
4
Drive through your quadriceps to extend your legs, pushing the foot pad forward and upward in a controlled motion. Extend your knees until they are nearly straight but not locked out. Pause briefly at the top, then repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
