Sit on the leg extension machine with your back and head resting against the padded support. Position your knees at a 90-degree angle with feet under the foot pad. Grasp the handles on either side for stability.

Place the top of your feet under the foot pad lever. Ensure your knees are aligned with the machine's pivot point. Keep your torso upright against the backrest throughout the movement.

Slowly lower the foot pad in a controlled manner by bending your knees, allowing the weight to descend without letting your knees go past 90 degrees. Maintain tension on the quadriceps throughout the eccentric phase.

Extend your legs by pushing the foot pad forward and upward, straightening your knees until they reach near-full extension. Squeeze the quadriceps at the top briefly, then return to the starting position with control.
