1
Sit on the leg extension machine with your back firmly against the backrest and your thighs parallel to the ground. Position your feet under the padded lever arm with legs bent at approximately 90 degrees at the knee joint.
2
Grip the handles on either side of the seat for stability. Adjust the machine so the pivot point aligns with your knee joint. Ensure your lower back remains in contact with the backrest throughout the movement.
3
Slowly lower the weighted lever arm by allowing your knees to bend in a controlled manner, returning toward the starting position. Maintain tension in the quadriceps throughout the descent without fully relaxing at the bottom.
4
Drive through your feet and contract your quadriceps to extend your legs, pushing the lever arm upward until your knees reach full or near-full extension. Pause briefly at the top to maximize quadriceps contraction before beginning the next repetition.
