1
Sit upright on the leg press machine with your back and head resting firmly against the padded support. Position your feet on the platform approximately shoulder-width apart with toes pointing slightly outward. Grip the handles on the sides of the machine for stability.
2
Adjust the seat position so that your knees form approximately a 90-degree angle when feet are on the platform. Ensure your lower back remains in contact with the seat throughout the exercise. Brace your core and maintain neutral spine alignment.
3
Slowly lower the platform by bending your knees, allowing them to travel toward your chest in a controlled manner. Continue lowering until your knees reach approximately 90 degrees of flexion or slightly less, ensuring knees do not cave inward. Maintain contact with the seat and control the descent with your muscles.
4
Drive through the midfoot and heel to extend your legs and push the platform away from your body. Extend your legs by straightening your knees without locking them fully at the top. Return to the starting position in a controlled manner, maintaining tension in the quadriceps throughout the concentric movement.
