1
Sit on the leg press machine with back and head resting firmly against the padded support. Position feet on the platform shoulder-width apart with toes pointing forward. Feet should be positioned mid-platform with heels slightly forward of ball of foot.
2
Grip the handles on the sides of the seat for stability. Ensure lower back maintains contact with the seat throughout the movement. Engage your core to prevent excessive spinal flexion.
3
Slowly lower the weight by bending at the knees and hips, allowing the knee joint to flex. Continue lowering until knees reach approximately 90 degrees of flexion. Do not allow knees to cave inward or extend beyond toes. Maintain control throughout the descent phase.
4
Drive through the mid-foot and heels to extend the knees and hips, pushing the platform away. Return to starting position without fully locking out the knees at the top. Maintain constant tension on the quadriceps throughout the return phase.
