1
Sit on the machine seat with feet flat on the floor or platform. Grasp the horizontal bar with a wide overhand grip, hands positioned slightly wider than shoulder-width. Maintain an upright torso with neutral spine alignment.
2
Ensure the seat height is adjusted so the bar aligns with the top of your chest when arms are extended overhead. Plant feet firmly on the floor for stability. Engage core muscles to maintain postural support.
3
Slowly lower the bar in a controlled manner by extending the arms upward and slightly backward. Allow the chest to remain upright while breathing in. Extend arms fully but do not lock elbows at the top position. Feel the stretch in the latissimus dorsi muscles.
4
Powerfully pull the bar downward and slightly back toward the upper chest in a smooth arc. Keep elbows high and drive them downward and back. Retract shoulder blades and squeeze the lats at the bottom position. Return to starting position with control.
