1
Sit on the Pilates reformer with your back against the backrest, knees bent at approximately 90 degrees, feet positioned on the carriage platform, and hands gripping the handles for stability.
2
Secure your feet firmly under the foot bar or on the carriage platform. Engage your core and maintain neutral spine position. Ensure your knees are aligned with your hips.
3
Slowly lower your legs by bending your knees, allowing the carriage to move toward your torso in a controlled eccentric motion. Lower to approximately 60-70 degrees of knee flexion without relaxing completely.
4
Drive through your heels and extend your legs forcefully, pushing the carriage away from your body by straightening your knees. Return to the starting position with control, maintaining constant tension in the quadriceps throughout the movement.
