1
Stand upright on a flat bench with feet hip-width apart, body weight evenly distributed. Maintain an upright posture with core engaged and hands on hips or at sides for balance.
2
Position yourself at the edge of the bench, ensuring stable footing. Keep your torso upright and neutral spine throughout the movement. Prepare to step forward and down in a controlled manner.
3
Step forward off the bench with one leg, lowering your body by bending at the knee and hip of the lead leg. The trailing leg remains on the bench. Descend until the front knee reaches approximately 90 degrees of flexion, with the knee tracking over the ankle.
4
Drive through the heel of the front leg to extend the knee and hip, pushing back up to the starting position on the bench. Return to standing position with both feet on the bench. Alternate legs and repeat for desired repetitions.
