1
Sit on the leg extension machine with your back against the backrest and your legs bent at approximately 90 degrees. Position your feet under the foot pads with your knees aligned with the machine's pivot point.
2
Grip the handles on both sides of the seat for stability. Ensure your torso remains upright and pressed against the backrest throughout the movement. Adjust the machine so the foot pad contacts your lower leg just above your ankles.
3
Slowly lower the weight by allowing your legs to bend, bringing your feet back toward your body in a controlled manner. Maintain contact with the foot pad and keep your back against the backrest. Lower until your knees reach approximately 90 degrees of flexion.
4
Extend your legs forward against the resistance, straightening your knees fully at the top of the movement. Squeeze your quadriceps at full extension, then control the weight as you return to the starting position without locking out your knees.
