1
Begin in a reclined or slightly inclined position with torso supported at approximately 45 degrees. Hold a dumbbell in one hand at chest level with elbow bent and upper arm positioned perpendicular to torso.
2
Secure your core and maintain neutral spine alignment. Position the dumbbell with elbow slightly below shoulder level, ensuring scapula is retracted against the bench.
3
Slowly lower the dumbbell in a controlled arc, allowing the elbow to descend and move away from the body while maintaining a slight bend. The movement should create a stretch across the chest without compromising shoulder position.
4
Press the dumbbell upward and across the body, extending the arm while maintaining control. Return to the starting position at chest level, squeezing the pectoralis major at the top of the movement.
